Brett Nelson earned his masters in Counseling at Idaho State University.  He is credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and is a Registered LCPC Supervisor.

Brett has 7 years providing experience as a counselor in a residential inpatient setting and has 2 years experience providing counseling in an outpatient setting.  This experience has provided Brett with a spectrum of experience that includes but is not limited to mental health disorders and other issues such as: self harm, self mutilation, oppositional defiance, family conflict, conduct disorder, suicidal thoughts, self esteem, depression/mood disorders, schizophrenia, authority, substance abuse, eating disorders, grief and loss issues, adjustment disorders and anxiety.

Brett works primarily with children ages 12-18, but also provides family and marriage counseling.  He works closely with families and or guardians to address the issues presented and works mostly from a cognitive behavioral therapy standpoint but uses existential therapy as well.  These two modes of therapy assist in helping a person understand control and responsibility, which in turn helps a person understand themselves more fully.

Brett’s office hours are Monday’s and Fridays typically evening hours.  He is an Approved Provider for Medicaid and various other insurance groups.

He can be reached via Voice Mail at 208-522-9812, Ext. 3.
